Having spent many a happy hour browsing and sampling my way around farmer’s markets I was really pleased to see a farmer’s market return to Yeovil in April this year with a full complement of 23 stalls. My only disappointment was that there wasn’t a slot open for Ice Maiden Cakes. I filled in the application anyway and was prepared for a long wait for a vacancy to come up.
The Yeovil farmer’s market is held in upper Middle Street on the fourth Saturday of the month and is one of a number which come under the umbrella of Somerset Farmer’s Markets. You can find out more about the markets and the stall holders by following the link.
Well, I’m really pleased to say that I have been offered a stall much sooner than I had anticipated. I will be at my first market on Saturday 26th June from 9am to 1pm selling a selection of cupcakes, whoopie pies and cake pops.
I would really love to hear your ideas on what you would like to see on the stall. What’s your favourite cupcakes flavour?

Hello! Received your DM on Twitter. I tried to reply but got a message that you weren’t following me and therefore, it wouldn’t send.
Yes, I do blog! Here’s the link: http://www.kittyandme.com/
Looking forward to your tweets!

Hi Pam, Thanks for the blog link. Twitter doesn’t seem to be behaving very well recenlty. Probably something to do with the World Cup and Big Brother *rolls eyes*.
Congratulations on getting the market stall, you must be delighted. Your question about favourite cupcake flavour has given me a tasty couple of minutes’ thought. I think I’ll probably say carrot cake with passionfruit icing, but only because I like to kid myself that the carrot is one of the five a day and the passionfruit counts as another portion.
Good luck with it all.
Thanks Caroline, my first market was yesterday and it went quite well despite the heat. Carrot cake was very popular, only beaten by vanilla!
I sampled a whoopee pie at the farmers market yesterday. A definite thumbs up! Hope you did well
Hi Barbie, thanks for visiting the site – it’s lovely to get a comment from a real life customer! The market went quite well for a first attempt although both myself and the buttercream were wilting under the heat. The Whoopie Pies were very popular so I think I will add another flavour at the next market (July 24th).
